The back-to-the-basics category in the robotics contest, this event challenges the participants to build a robot which would be able to run along the designed track and complete any goals across obstacles that come in its path. The robot is controlled by the participants through a remote connected to the robot by means of a set of wires. Building a robot of this level gives the participants idea of the basic mechanical concepts like centre of gravity, motor torque-current relations, which influence the performance of the vehicle to a great extent. This event invites the largest crowd among the robotics events, including first-time roboteers who wish to experiment with new drive systems, and also the experienced participants, who fine-tune their robot for each event to meet the requirements of the track .The adrenaline rush associated with this event, with its close finishes and innovative designs, also invites a huge audience which watches the event from the spiraling corridors of RAIT.
